Cessnock City Council is inviting local book enthusiasts to a free author talk featuring renowned Australian author Nicole Alexander on Wednesday, 16 April. The event will take place from 5:30 to 6:45 PM at Cessnock Library, where Alexander will discuss her latest novel, The Limestone Road.

Set in the post-World War II era in South Australia, The Limestone Road traces the journey of soldier Canning Christie and his father, Michael, as they return from the deserts of North Africa in 1944. The novel explores themes of resilience, family, and the pursuit of belonging.

Library Services Coordinator Rose-marie Walters expressed her excitement about the event, encouraging residents to attend. “The Limestone Road is a beautifully written and deeply moving story that will resonate with readers. We are thrilled to have Nicole Alexander join us to share her insights and inspiration behind this captivating novel,” Walters said.

Alexander, who resides in north-western New South Wales, is the author of twelve novels, including The Bark Cutters. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase copies of her books, which she will sign at the event.
